Why have my bookmarks' visit counts stopped recording?
Sometime before this last update I had to reinstall Windows 7 Pro and successfully imported all of my bookmarks. I use the boomarks toolbar, and was always able to organize them by number of times visited. That is, the more visit counts, the higher up the list a site would appear. That is no longer the case. The "most visited" menu has even stopped updating, and reflects websites visited immediately after I reinstalled and imported. Firefox is no longer recording any site visits.
No changes were made to my privacy or history, unless during an update something was tweaked that I'm unaware of.
Any idea how to restore this functionality?
Thanks!

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Thanks for the reply.
Places.sqlite was the first thing I checked. It is not "read only."
Private browsing isn't, and has never been checked.
My issue isn't with the places databases, it's solely with the recording of the visit count. I was able to organize this way long before the places folders. I've never even referenced them until this issue appeared.
