How do you restore history/bookmarks from backup after Windows 7 factory reset?

more options

Having needed to restore factory settings on Windows 7. I did a backup to my external hard drive before this, thinking that everything would be saved. I thought a "back up image" meant a "snapshot" of the system as was. So now i have no Firefox, and no history and no bookmarks. I can see there is pre-factory restore data in my C drive which I've re-imported back to the laptop, but how can Firefox now access it to gather the previous history? Is this even possible?

Will be absolutely GUTTED if I have lost years worth of important bookmarks :(

Hello, if you want to know in which folder firefox backups your bookmarks follow this page profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data . Find folder named bookmarkbackups in that folder. Now you shoud find the same folder in your external hard drive.

To import backup open your browser go to bookmarks menu, click show all bookmarks then click import and backup choose restore then choode select file.

Thank you. This has solved it in terms of bookmarks, but is there also a way of getting back browsing history in a similar way?

Kind regards
