HI,

I have ecountered the problem (Foutcode: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid) in version 31 and 32 before but after updating to 33 the solution no longer works (solution was disabling security.use_mozzilapkix_verification in about:config)

I get this error when i try to access a intern site with a selfmade certificate that works before... is there anyway to disable the error?

Platform: Windows 7 Browser: FireFox 33.0

Does Firefox present the third part of the error page ("I understand the risks") and allow you to save an exception for the site?

I have the same problem after updating FF to 33.0. Problem looks like this (pic in attachment). There is no additional "I understand the risks". security.use_mozzilapkix_verification, that solved the problem in FF 32.x is not working with 33.0

In some cases, clearing old saved certificates and exceptions will work around this issue, but it isn't a cure all for all sites.

You can manually remove old exceptions in the Options/Preferences dialog, or you can remove the cert8.db file from your currently active Firefox profile folder.

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Certificates mini-tab > "View Certificates" button
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced > Certificates mini-tab > "View Certificates" button

I already removed the cert8.db file but i still get the error

I have been reading about this and it's more complicated than I can understand, much less explain.

For business use with internal sites, could I suggest the Extended Support Release (ESR) of Firefox 31 instead of Firefox 33, at least until the developers sort out how this will be handled in the regular release?
