My tabs page shows nothing but the new search bar but that can't even be used either
So I use the newtabs page all the time, infact everytime I open firefox but I have opened newtabs page this morning and none of my pages are there at all and I haven't click "Hide new tabs page". All that is on the newtabs page is that new searchbar but thats not working for searches either.

Thank you for you quick responses @cor-el but I have managed to fix this issue myself.
I typed > about:support into my address bar
I then reset firefox to its default state which resolved my problem.
maybe you can use this information to further help other.
Many thanks - Rob

Do you still see empty tiles on the about:newtab page?
Can you drag any bookmarks or history item in one of the tiles?
Does the search bar has the Google logo next to it?
Changes made manually on the about:newtab page are stored in prefs that you can find on the about:config page.
- browser.newtabpage.pinned stores websites that you have pinned to a tile
- browser.newtabpage.blocked stores websites that you have removed by clicking the X button in a tile
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
- do not clear the Cache
- do not clear the Browsing History
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/remove-recent-browsing-search-and-download-history
I dont see tiles full stop, which is the worring part.
I cant drag book marks to the tiles are there arn't any and the bookmarks just opens the page that I drag.
The search bar has no google logo.
Firefox is set to remember history.
about:newtab just shows the same empty page as clicking the +.
I took a screenshot of my page to give you a better understanding of what it currently looks like > My screenshot of my about:newtabs
Are there any errors in the Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) that could be related to this?
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
- Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
The console doesnt show anything, Iv also uninstalled firefox, removed files from both 32 and 64bit files, reinstalled and nothing has changed the page still doesnt display the google logo and there is only a useless searchbar.
