I am not able to import my whole inbox from Outlook Express what can I do?
I need to improve my old but trust email and selected Thunderbird, I downloaded it and it set up most of my folders and a few mails into my inbox. Clearly not everything was correct so I read the help, and uninstalled Thunderbird, set outlook express as the default email client programme, downloaded Thunderbird again and this time all the folders were there with the emails within them - but the inbox only held about 5 emails.. (It should have about 1,500) not sure how to get my old email in... is there a cheat such as move all the email in inbox to a temportary email folder and then reinstall Thunderbird, and then simply move the email from the temporary folder back into the inbox?
Seems to be it should move it without having to do this , but strange things can happen!!

Outlook express is notorious for corrupt DBX files. not always such that things do not work in Ouytlook express.
Tools menu (Alt+T) > import and you can retry the import as often as you like. Each try will create an outlook expresss [number] folder under local folders with what it has obtained in them.
Note that import maiol only hey... your setting apparently came first time round. I would suggest running one of the DBX repair tools on outlook express toi be sure.

The issue is actually now resolved, I did the following which seemed to make the correction,, I went in to Control Panel - Add/Delete Programmes
Selected Mozilla Thunderbird when the pop up came in - clicked Change
Was then given a window showing that the Outlook Express and Outlook2010 were options but Thunderbird was not allowable - (RED Cross over the disk icon.
I reset this to allow Thunderbird and reinstalled and all went fine.
Thanks
