Most websites say I haven't used this device before and require validation
This is getting real annoying! Almost every time I log in to a website, I get a message that I haven't used this device before - when I've actually used it 50 times - and I have to use the 2FA to get a code sent to my phone. Complete waste of time. FF is behaving like I'm clearing all cookies every day - I rarely clear them. How do I fix this??

Hi there!
I understand your frustration with the constant validation requests when logging into websites with Firefox. It can be quite annoying to go through the 2FA process repeatedly, especially when you've used the device before. Let's try to resolve this issue for you.
Here are a few steps you can take to address the problem:
Check your Firefox Privacy Settings: Open Firefox and click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner. Select "Options" and go to the "Privacy & Security" tab. Ensure that the "Enhanced Tracking Protection" setting is set to "Standard" or "Strict" mode. You can also try disabling any custom privacy settings you might have configured.
Clear Cookies for Specific Websites: If the issue persists with certain websites, you can try clearing cookies specifically for those sites. To do this, click on the menu button, select "Options," and go to the "Privacy & Security" tab. Under the "Cookies and Site Data" section, click on "Manage Exceptions." Remove any entries related to the websites causing the validation issues.
Disable Third-Party Cookie Blocking: Some websites rely on third-party cookies for device recognition. While this can impact privacy, you can temporarily disable the blocking of third-party cookies to see if it resolves the validation problem. Go to the "Privacy & Security" tab in the Firefox options, scroll down to the "Cookies and Site Data" section, and uncheck the box next to "Block third-party cookies."
Check for Extensions Interference: Certain browser extensions or add-ons can interfere with website functionality. Temporarily disable any security or privacy-related extensions to see if they are causing the validation issues. You can do this by going to the menu button, selecting "Add-ons," and disabling extensions one by one until the problem is resolved.
Try a Firefox Refresh: If the issue persists, you can try refreshing Firefox to restore it to its default settings. This will remove your extensions and customizations, but your bookmarks, history, and saved passwords will be preserved. To refresh Firefox, go to the menu button, select "Help," and choose "Troubleshooting Information." In the new tab, click on the "Refresh Firefox" button.
I hope these steps help resolve the problem you're facing. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please let me know. As a Firefox Support Forum contributor, I'm here to help!
