Old tabs loading at startup whether I am signed in to Firefox or not, and on two different computers!

I am having a problem with Windows 10 Firefox. When I open Firefox there are several tabs that open every time I try to open Firefox or open a new window. I have tried the REFRESH, I have created a new profile and only copied/added only the important profile files: (please let me know if any of these files would contain open tabs) • places.sqlite • favicons.sqlite • key4.db • logins.json. • permissions.sqlite • search.json.mozlz4 • persdict.dat • formhistory.sqlite . • cookies.sqlite • cert9.db • handlers.json , then deleted the old profiles and yet.... these same 22 tabs keep loading. I have signed out of Firefox, cleared the "session stuff" under my profile and the tabs keep reappearing. I decided to log in to my Firefox account on my Desktop and those same tabs show up FROM MY LAPTOP. NOTE: I have NEVER synced my tabs . I signed out of Firefox on my desktop , but still those same tabs appear when I open Firefox without being signed in! I cannot figure out how/why this is happening. Also note, I have deleted any duplicate devices under my account, AND deleted my desktop device from my laptop, but when I logged in on the desktop....somehow I still got the tabs from my laptop. Unless someone can guide me.... I guess the next step is to delete my account, create a new profile with that new account?

Open tabs are stored in sessionstore.jsonlz4 and files in the sessionstore-backups folder.

If the tabs only open when you start Firefox or open a new window then this is about the homepage setting and it sounds that these pages are set as multiple homepages (stored as the browser.startup.homepage pref in prefs.js).

You can check that those pages aren't set as multiple homepages.

Firefox supports multiple homepages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.

Thank YOU! I never thought to check "homepage". I recently had to reset homepage and set it to "current" when I apparently had another window open with multiple tabs!
