Unless I misunderstood your question :

You can set the startup (home) page to : about:newtab

3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Options => General => Startup : Home page

Note that Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can use pages like these:

the default new tab page with the tiles is : about:newtab the default home page is : about:home' for a blank page use : about:blank

When you're on your home page, you can open a new page by clicking the
'+' sign, whilst holding the Ctrl key - or am I still not getting it  ?

I have no problem opening new tabs/pages but they don't open in my starting page. Just a blank page. I want to change it to open in my start/home page. Sorry if I did explain my "problem" in the right way. Thanks again for taking your time

I still don't get it ...... You have no problem getting your home page to show up, do you  ? Or is the problem that your home page now is a blank page  ? Or does the new tab you want to open, open a blank tab instead  ? (I apologize for being so dense)

My new page/tab (already having a tab/page open which is not in home page) opens blank, but I want it to open in home page. I hope now it's clear.. Thanks
