Adobe Flash Player not installing
I have installed Adobe Flash Player, Shockwave Flash, V17.0.0.188 multiple times trying to to update my plugin since changing to Windows 10 a month ago. I do not get any error message, but when I go back to mozilla plugin check, it shows that I need to update the player, as though I have not done so. PC restart (as well as shut-down/new start) does not fix.

The Flash Player 17.0.0.188 is old as it came out May 12 as you can see at https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb15-09.html
The current versions for Windows are at https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html Flash Player 19.0.0.245 (Win and Mac) Flash Player 18.0.0.261 ESR (Win and Mac)
It seems you have a version of Flash player 17 and 19 installed as per your more system details on tight of your post. When you have older version(s) installed along with current the older version installed on system may still get used instead.

Uninstall Flash versions and then install current. Make sure Firefox is closed when you uninstall and install Flash.

This is a known issue with the update checker. If the programs web site says you are up to date, then you are fine. Don’t worry.
Ignore FredMcD's comment as you are not fine as you do appear to have two versions installed as I stated and checker is saying you need to update due to older version being used instead of current.
Thanks, James. I changed the status on the old version of Flash to never activate and it allowed the new version to take over. My PC shows that only the new version is installed. All good again!
