Firefox crashes on launch.
I have uninstalled with Windows control panel and with Revo Uninstaller, then reinstalled Firefox several times. It still crashes on launch. I can't access safe mode as per some of the recommendations on other threads. Firefox worked fine yesterday. The only new software on the machine was a Java update yesterday.
I get the following details from a Firefox window notifying me of the crash.

unfortunately this seems to have been caused by an update to the Dell Protected Workspace that is running on your device - could you try uninstalling it in case you're not using it?

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
- On the keyboard, press [Windows] The image "Windows key" does not exist. + [R]. This should bring up a Run window that contains a text field.
- In that text field, type %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
- From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
- Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
- Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
- Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!
You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
There was only one submitted crash report. Perhaps because I have been uninstalling repeatedly?
The only thing in the crash report was the following:
Crash ID: bp-af56c032-80c2-40df-b5cc-9b6772140425
Been trying for a while. The crash report will not display.
Server said it can't find the report. Please verify the number.
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not
have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
I'm afraid I don't understand the instruction in the first sentence. The address bar of what?
There is only one text file in the submitted directory. I have copied the entire contents of that file in my reply above.
I have re-installed Firefox again. This time the browser launched after install. However, subsequent to that it has crashed every time I try to launch. It has not generated any new crash reports.

Thanks. I'm going into a meeting now. Will try after lunch.
I disabled Protected Workspace from starting using msconfig. Then I re-installed Firefox. It still crashes. It is also not generating any new crash reports.
I just discovered that even though it is disabled it still can run. I'm uninstalling it.
Protected Workspace uninstalled using Revo Uninstaller. Firefox now works.
Thanks
