When downloading a file, a new miniature Firefox screen would appear and keep me posted on the time remaining and when it had completed downloading. Now this scren no longer appears. I would like it back.

Thank you

Firefox manages downloads in the Downloads folder in the Library (History > Show All History)
Downloads are treated as history items: clearing history removes download items that are part and vice verse.

When a download is in progress then you see a animated download button on the Navigation Toolbar showing an estimate of the remaining time changing into a highlighted Download button once the download has finished to make you aware that new downloads are available.

You can display the new Download Manager in a tab by opening the about:downloads page and consider to open this page in a separate window.

Very helpful. I will switch back to the old. Wish Firefox would tell us about the changes before making them. Even better, give us the option to change or not.

When will the developers learn? People should always be given options without having to resort to an extension to fix a new "feature". If you change something, allow users to keep the previous alternative. And now I will uninstall ff24.
