I have a 2 inch gray bar across the top of my home page now after dragging a few windows around my desk top. I'm not sure if it's a mozilla thing or google thing but it just appeared and I would like to get rid of it. g
My home page is just www.google.com with a search box and a picture of some planets as a background from my computer. While I was dragging the restored down browser window, I slipped with my mouse and now I have a light gray two inch bar across the top of my background picture. It's below the; Search-Images-YouTube-News-Gmail-More icons. When I right click on it and select inspect Element (Q) it says div#gbx1.gbqfh in three different colors. I would like to get rid of it, but I don't know if it's a google or Mozilla issue. I know google has been changing things so it wouldn't surprise me if it was just a coincidence.

Can you attach a screenshot?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Is that in the toolbar area or is that part of the browser window that displays websites?
If you get an Inspect item in the right-click context menu then that suggests that it is part of the browsing window and not the toolbar area with your persona.
Which page is open (address in the location bar) when that happens?
Thank you for the quick response. It's in the browser window below the tool bars. I happen to have a before and after screen shot. It's there whenever I open Firefox on the google page only. No other web pages are affected. Thanks again

Is there any text in that gray bar?
I see some buttons on it, do they have a tooltip?
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Are you using a proxy to connect to the internet?
See "Firefox connection settings":
No proxy being used. Tried safe mode with no change. The buttons you see on the right side of the gray bar are for Google+ and I did some comparing to the before and after. They are there in the before however they're on the same line as the Search-Gmail-More icons are on. I tried to take a snippet of both so you can see. I appreciate your help.
That is the toolbar that Google shows when you are logged on, so it is possible tat Google adds that gray to make it easier to see the toolbar without the chosen background causing problems.
Do you still see that gray bar if you remove/disable that background image or aren't logged on?

When I remove the background image the gray bar is gone. I believe you may be correct about google adding it. It doesn't appear on igoogle but I downloaded IE9 then made google the home page and guess what's there, same color, same size. However when I right click it and select properties it says it's a Firefox HTML Document. In IE?
I bealive the reason is Google. No doubt it's a Firefox HTML cause Google and Firefox are incorporated, but that doesn't really metter. Did you try other browser to see do you get the same gray bar? I think that's because of your background and while you are logged in it makes it easier for you.
