Since the most recent update (yesterday), periodically I am redirected to random sites when I click on a link from a Google search.

I opened Firefox yesterday morning, and it asked me to wait while it updated. When it was done, I was asked whether I wanted to enable "XUL Cache 1.0". It looked official enough, so I enabled it. Almost every time I clicked on a web link from a Google search, I was re-directed to websites like the Yellow Pages or a "Local Look-up" site. In desperation, I disabled the XUL cache extension, restarted Firefox, and things seemed fine. This morning and a couple times this afternoon however, I've been redirected to the wrong sites again. It isn't as prevalent as it was yesterday, but it is still there.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
