I did something and now everytime I open a new tab it no longer gives me pocket, which I'd like to get back... how do I do that??
I was trying to download a pdf of a novel and now, whenever I open a new tab, it sends me to a site labeled "Extension (ViewPDF)." I'd rather have my old default page back.

Hi David, yes, I saw that you have a Mac. This unfortunately does not provide immunity against unwanted, ill-behaved, or potentially malicious software. When you get a chance, please do go to the Add-ons page and clean up any extensions you do not want in your Firefox.

Hi dmarshall58, it sounds like an add-on has taken over your new tab. Do you recall installing a new add-on into Firefox? If so, if it isn't beneficial for other reasons, you may want to remove it.
You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Command+Shift+a (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.
Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage.
You can use an add-on's ••• menu to remove ViewPDF, or its "slider switch" to disable it.
While you're here, anything else suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).
Any improvement?
I should have mentioned I have a mac, but I think I have it solved now. I added an extension that allows me to choose my own default new tab page.
thanks for your help!
David
