can't set master password after refreshing firefox
Firefox lost its icon, among other problems, after the update to 59.02, so I looked through support and found an entry that suggested refreshing Firefox had solved the issue for them. I refreshed mine after seeing Mozilla's reassurance that this would not remove any passwords. The issue was not solved and the process removed all the passwords. It also removed my master password and now will not allow me to set a new one. I really need this feature as I'm a web designer and manage a lot of passwords that need to be protected but also to be easily accessible. It would be great if anyone knows how to get Firefox to allow me to set a new Master, that's the main thing. But if someone knows how to restore all the passwords I had stored previously, that would be a HUGE bonus.

Hi, again please do not post in others questions as you interrupt us from helping them.
Hi, sorry you found that. It is a useful tool but should be said that before doing so or just because it is best to always make backups :
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
As you should before working on any software or computer that holds valuable information.
As for what is going on now with you the answer is no the info is probably gone or is locked in there. If you have reset the password it will delete the info as per :
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Master_password
So , sorry they are again gone. Support Volunteers can't make changes to Firefox. To submit suggestions for new or changed features, may I suggest:
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
hi, please check do you have security.enterprise_roots.enabled set to enabled? to check, enter about:config into the Firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named security.enterprise_roots.enabled. if it's shown in bold, double-click it and change its value to false, restart the browser once and see if you can access your passwords then...
