Hi Ron, Mozilla doesn't have staff to provide phone support, sorry.

If updating doesn't work, you might be able to update by trashing your current Firefox application and downloading the new one. However, as a Windows user, I probably should just refer you to the help article: How to download and install Firefox on Mac (I think for a failed upgrade you get referred back to that article).

Let's start by downloading the new one. You can get the full Firefox 38.0.5 from this page (scroll down to your preferred language):
