My bookmarks keep dissappearing
im having this issue where the bookmarks dropdown menu, and bookmarks toolbar do not display ANY of my bookmarks. they are all still there however. when i go to disable addons as well to check and see if that is an issue the addons section never comes up either via menu or shortcut command.
this happened recently and on a fresh install after only a couple of times opening firefox and closing it. this is a really annoying problem and i hope there is an easy way to fix this. the only addons i use in particular are FTP Fire and Ad Blocker+ which for a long time now have not caused any issues related to firefox itself, just certain websites.

well slight issue with that, clicking addons in the tools menu or using its shortcut command does nothing now.
be advise this is still off a fresh reinstall.
edit: curious, starting up in private browsing mode seems to fix my issues, then going back to normal browsing my problems arise again.
edit edit: nevermind, the problem now happens there too.
final edit. ok so heres what i did, while it was in a window not displaying my bookmarks i could not access addons menu in any shape or form or even start safe mode. but when i opened a 2nd window all this stuff became apparent and all menus were accessible. from there i manually disabled ALL addons and turned them back on one by one restarting firefox each time. the problem does not seem to presist now so i have no idea what could have caused the issue. the problem is solved but i wouldnt even know what the answer was, which is the only thing that bugs me at this point.

this is essentially what i see. no bookmarks in drop menu and my toolbar should be filled with bookmarks. but it sits empty till i remove it then re add it to my window.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

i have completly generated new places.sqlite files by removing the old ones, my situation is unaffected. its not that its losing my bookmarks simply that its not displaying them at all. this issue will randomly be resolved on occasion, then be back the next time i launch firefox. saving a new bookmark while symptoms are apparent does still add it to location but does not visually show this till i refresh the bookmarks toolbar.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
