The 1Password plugin for Firefox prompts users to enter new passwords as they are created. Starting with version 32, however, the text box still appears, but no cursor appears in the text box, and no type is visible as I type. The typed entry is posted to 1Password, but it must be checked to ensure that there were no typos (since the type was not visible as it was entered). Is there a fix for this "invisible type" problem?

Sorry, I don't have Mac and don't use 1Password.

Have you checked to see if there is an update for 1 Password?

https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac/ In the lower-left corner of that page, there is a Download button to get a Manual for 1Password for Mac. https://www.manula.com/media/29/1630_2262_2346_en_1403649099.pdf It was updated as of Sept 10, 2014 - not sure, but I wonder if that indicates that an update was released recently or not.

There is a support forum for that application over here: https://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-for-mac

I appreciate your response, but 1Password has no new release that might solve the problem -- a problem, to be honest, that I don't think is theirs.

Firefox has become increasingly prone to rendering errors, and this may be just another one. Sites that display properly in Safari and Chrome are a mess in Firefox, and every day brings me closer to switching to another browser.

Whether there's code specific to Firefox that developers, because of Firefox's declining popularity, aren't including or Firefox isn't incorporating the latest standards, I don't know. But I do know that I now need to open other browsers throughout the day because Firefox is no longer the reliable resource it once was.

Well, considering that Firefox 32 had a big change with Passwords and with Public Key Pinning (which is related to security certificates) I would be very surprised if AgileBits didn't have an update available or in the works for 1Password. They may not have released it yet, but I would think they were working on a patch.

As as "declining popularity", what statistics have you seen recently that shows a massive drop in the number of user visits to websites? I have that posted a number of times since Firefox 29 was released, but the numbers were all disproved in those threads. True that "growth" may have flat-lined or decreased slightly, but nothing that Firefox was actually "bleeding" users.

Different sources show a steady decline in Firefox use between January 2009 and now: StatCounter (27% > 17.5%) W3Counter (31.1% > 16.8%)

A shorter window tracked by Shareaholic (Sep '13 - Apr '14) puts the figures at 16.6% > 11.9%.

Just as a side note that's relevant to the problem, this form page works fine in Firefox, but the reply box doesn't appear at all in Safari or Chrome.
