Firefox corrupts downloads and crashes
Have done a fresh install of windows 7-32bit on a new laptop. Installed the latest Firefox as I have done before. Downloaded drivers from HP website, but when I tried to open downloads I received a message stating files were corrupted or incomplete, also received nsis error. Eventually downloaded driver files with IE9 with no problem. No antivirus software had been installed at this point. Firefox still has problems downloading some files and has now begun to crash.(BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH) I have never had a problem with Firefox before and have used on previous latops with windows 7. Is there a problem with the latest version of Firefox. I am desperate for a solution to my problem.

Hi benzbong , Thank you for your question. Firefox should not cause a BSD. NSIS is an error when the download has failed a self help check. I would recommend checking for malware on the computer or trying to move the installer file out of the downloads folder.
Malware: Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
