"manage my sync account" comes close, but I don't have a recovery key, can't get the phone to sync with the desktop, and there is nothing in the forum that addresses this issue specifically: I get the 12-digit code from the phone. I enter it into the desktop. Instead of "manage account", it goes to "create new/have an account". Then I go to "have an account", enter my data, and have to quit BECAUSE THERE'S NO RECOVERY KEY. What's wrong with this picture?? I am using a first generation Samsung Galaxy (Sprint's version) and have tried syncing with two different computers, with a number of versions of FF. I have uninstalled from the phone EVERY TIME, because this has NEVER worked...

Hi Alan,
You are apparently dismissing the essential setup option.

You need to create an account on the static computer from which to sync. If you try to do that first from a mobile device the static device detects that there is no account and offers you the option to set one up.

"The essential setup option"... I HAD an account. It wasn't working. What I did, and THIS WORKED, was delete my account, and rebuild it from scratch. The sync is happening as I type. So The essential setup solution, for those who get caught by this, is to delete your account, rebuild it, and go straight into pairing from there. I am glad for this forum--your answers spurred me to a successful attempt!

Glad you sorted it out. Thanks for posting back.

If you already have an account it is expecting you to use that, and to use it with the registered email address.
