On opening, Thunderbird starts Firefox and requests donation, I already donated, how do I disable?

I see it as Thunderbird hijacking the resources of my computer to run Firefox and take me to the donation website. I'm fine with the request for money in the Thunderbird screen, I can navigate away from that. Don't open programs other than Thunderbird before I require them.

Chosen solution

The donation work flow flow takes you to the browser you specified as default. Which until recently offers the best user experience. This will eventually change to being in browser only, unless you have just downloaded and installed.
