This started a week or two ago intermittantly on some websites. Today I cannot see any images of amazon items in the shopping cart. I can see the thumbnails in the right side bar, and if I click on an item, the image appears on its for sale page. Ebay usually shows the first image, but the rest won't load, unless I click on "unable to load images" and then they might. Or if I use the icon to put the images in their own box, I can < and > to navigate them

Turned the new "secure DNS" feature off & on, no difference. Turned off NoScript, no difference.

Make sure you haven't enabled High Contrast mode in the OS settings.

Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors as this affects background images.

  • Settings -> General -> Language and Appearance -> Colors -> Manage Colors
"Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above"

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.

Setting was at NEVER, tried all 3 settings, does not make the images appear.

Also, this version of FF is opening new windows smaller than full size (tiling maybe?) and I want them to open without any gaps that I can accidentally type into.

Also can't see the main image in Etsy, but do see the thumbnails. But they won't open.

And also cannot see the images in the RESULTS page on Amazon.

This is a firefox problem, not my DNS or other outside setting, because I can see the images with Safari 11.1.2.

In the "recommendations" area, I see a thumbnail. When I open it in another tab, NO IMAGE !

Clicking on amazon "help" at the bottom of the page to open it, loading is stuck while trying to load a script addressed as " images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com "

Show the issue(s). Provide screenshots and links. Here what I see.

the area where the thumbnails should be is blank. On Amazon, I might seen the empty square, or sometimes on a product page a small ovalish shape, which is new behavior. CLicking on the empty area does not bring up the full size image.

There is sometimes a script being called, visible in Firefox lower left corner. Something like "images - [something] -ssl.amazon.com" and sometimes the loading just spins forever.

This page is behaving normally, wrt thumbnails showing full size when clicked upon: https://www.amazon.com/RYOBI-800-Watt-Automotive-Power-Inverter/dp/B09SY6K83M

Randomly bad behavior...

But at the moment, clicking on the text to open the specific product in a new tab, I AM able to get the thumbnails to open full size. Randomly weird.

Another site that is no longer showing images: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005088/mediaviewer/rm4103093761/

I spent 15 minutes going thru my Extensions/AddOns and turning off the privacy filters. No difference.

I see images coming from m.media-amazon.com/images Nothing seems to blocked by ETP.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click "Refresh Firefox" in the Troubleshoot Mode start window

The above give me a headache. Noticed that loading gets hung up on some other "images" address within amazon.

I can see images in troubleshooting mode.

I don't know if I was using Hardware acceleration, when I go there in Troubleshoot mode, the option does not exist until I uncheck the only option. then it says its being used. But I have not CHANGED it in years, so how could it suddenly give a problem, if it was ON ? I'll turn it off & restart normal mode & see what happens...

Not using any sort of Theme other than the default.

Confused, I can uncheck both "use recommended" and "acceleration." What should I select, recomm. or neither? I have a feeling that Recomm acivates accel, but hides it from you for some stupid/sloppy design reason.

With Recomm, the amazon cart does not show images & the text is offscreen to the right except for a couple letters. But a product page does show the image. Unchecking both, same as above. Unless I need to restart firefox to make ANY change in the PERFORMANCE setting?

extension checking, what a PIA. > Note: If you have a large number of extensions, it may be quicker to enable more than one extension at a time. The method with the fewest number of restarts required is: Enable half the extensions in this list, then restart Firefox and test for the problem. If the problem reoccurs, you know that the faulty extension is one of the ones you just enabled. If the problem does not occur, you know the faulty extension is one of the disabled ones. Repeat the process until the faulty extension is found.

Also, seems to have switched to a Dark Mode type theme. Is there a time of day auto dark mode?
