Firefox on Windows 10 (with auto update enabled) keeps disabling the "Ask to save logins and passwords" feature. I can set it, then it works for about the next 3 to 4 sessions and then it stops working. I go into preferences again to check and the feature is unchecked again. This is for my older aunt who has trouble with passwords, I thought this would be a way to make things easy but also secure for her. This is only making it more confusing for her.

What's your computer system and Firefox version?

Are you using ant password add-ons/programs?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Did you check your security software isn't removing the option?

If you have the "Trend Micro Password Manager" installed then try to uninstall this application via the Windows Control Panel.

If you use another external Password Manager like RoboForm then uninstall/disable this application.
