I'm trying to change the font size/style of Folder and Thread panes. Options:Display does has no effect for me. What am I doing wrong?
I've recently migrated over from a Windows XP machine (which I ran up-to-date Thunderbird on) to a new Windows 10 machine. The Folder pane on this new install has taller relative text and vertical spacing than on my other machine which results in many fewer lines visible than before (I prefer to see all my folders rather than scrolling) so I would like to reduce vertical spacing and font size of both the Folder pane and Thread panes so it looks like what I'm used to. It also looks like the icon for a "folder" has changed for some reason as well -- now it's rotated 90 degrees with the tab on the right instead of the top, which is taller in itself.
When I go to Tools:Options: Display-tab, and change the font style / size and even colors it has absolutely no effect on the text in these panes. Is this the wrong option to be trying to use to make these changes? Is something in my Windows system possibly overriding changes made via Thunderbird?
Thanks!

Try the Theme Font & Size Changer add-on.

The settings you mention act only on message content.
And look for complete themes. Some may offer a more compact presentation.

Thank you, that explains perfectly! A note to that effect in the Options would be helpful imo as "Display" to me implies how the app looks in general
