How do I contact someone at Firefox to get help with Script errors?

more options

I have a service contract with Microsoft but they cannot fix errors on Firefox. I am getting Script errors only on Firefox, not on Internet Explorer. I am not a technician and need someone from Firefox to fix their error condition.

Can you please elaborate on what errors you are seeing exactly?

Unfortunately I don't have a screen shot available but whatever I am doing freezes, I get the little circle going around and a box pops up saying something about a scrip error. Stop, DeBug or Continue. If i click stop, the freeze ends. If I click DeBug the bottom of my screens looks like Albert Einstein but still in freeze mode. If I click Continue it stays in freeze mode. The next time it happens will take a screen shot.

This is usually caused by an add-on, try a Firefox refresh. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Also, you have a VERY out of date graphics driver. It's not likely causing this error, but it's going to be dragging your Firefox performance down. Try updating it. Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL

Tyler, thanks for your commenting on my dilemma and offering to help. Just curious, what makes you say my graphics driver is Very out of date? I'm able to watch videos on YouTube and other places with zero issues. Without anyone who can do what you suggest, I may have to go back to IE because i have hands on support from Microsoft and none with Firefox. It seems, unless your are a computer geek, you need a support team just to keep you running.

That's a Facebook script. Obviously Facebook is a very media intensive site, so here's something to consider:

One common cause of unresponsive script errors on Windows 7 is the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have serious compatibility issues on some systems. There is a hidden setting to disable it; I suggest trying this for a day to see whether it helps:

(A) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(B) In the search box above the list, type or paste flash and pause while the list is filtered

(C) Double-click the dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode preference to switch its value from false to true.

This might not take effect until all Flash has been unloaded for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.

In your "More System Details" it lists:

driverDate: 2-2-2010

which is more than five years ago. Normally display drivers get several bug fixes after release, so we suspect there probably is newer driver software available for your system.

Recent versions of Firefox have turned on new features that caused display glitches, crashes, or extreme slowness for some users with older display drivers. If you aren't experiencing those problems, then you could research this later.

I went into Window updates and installed the option ATI update, hope that's what I needed to do.

In the am when i'm fresh i will go into config and make that change.

Curious again, where and how did you see my driver date?

Thanks

Next to your post, there is a link, More System Details. This is gathered when you click a green "Share Data" button while submitting your question.

If you have never expanded the Question Details section before, you may need to click that first before you can see the "More System Details" link.
