I binged firefox, and I ended up on a site that was not really mozilla, and I downloaded some spyware and adware. It took hours to get them all off.

  • Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
  • Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

You can find the full version of the current Firefox 33.0.1 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

I tried a bing search and noticed a getfirefox.net website in the list. If that's the website you visited to download Firefox then a "Trademark Violations" bug report has already been filed:

The problem was actually an ad on the webpage, according to the bug report (see Bugzilla etiquette before commenting in bugs).

You should only download Firefox from an official mozilla.org website.
