using a bookmark takes me to another website
On my work computer - when I click on some bookmarks, two specifically, it comes up with a blocked website. The blocked website is not the one I am trying to reach. One is the Verizon webmail site, and when the "restricted" message comes up, and I look at the warning, it lists a yahoo coupon site - not where I am trying to go!
I have tried clearing all my cookies, browser history, etc, and restarting the computer, and nothing is working to get rid of that nasty website. Finally what I did was bookmark another website that can get me to where I want to be, but I am thinking I must be infected - any help on what else I can do to get rid of whatever is infecting the computer?

Hi! Thanks for your reply, but I could not locate either the folder or the file on the computer.
However, a couple of things dawned on me last night, and looking at the links you provided also helped.
First, I realized it was not the site I was going to, but rather a pop-up that was getting the restricted treatment, since it was a small window near the top. There was no way to close just it - funny placement - but that started me thinking. I do have pop ups blocked, and no "allowed sites" - I checked! So, after reading what you suggested, I also did a search on "still getting pop ups" and found an extension that seems to be working - fingers crossed!
Thanks!

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
