Thunderbird runs fine, but troubleshooter cant open profile folder
I moved Thunderbird to a new PC recently. Thunderbird runs fine. I want to backup the profile folder. Windows file explorer does not see the profile ; yes I have set hidden files to view. The only profile it sees is the one I copied over from old PC that has not been modified (see image). In Thunderbird, I go to troubleshoot information, Profile folder, open folder, I get Location is not available error (see image). I go to about:profiles, open folder (any, see image), get same error. Profile manager does not see the old profile from old PC. How do I make Windows and Thunderbird see and open the profile folder Thunderbird is using successfully? Thank you

Yes, the profile is at C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\packages\MozillaThunderbird.MZLA_h5892qc0xkpca\LocalCache\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles . Thank you!!

Did you install TB from the MS Store?
yes I did
The problem is that the store version places the profile (I think) in a different location:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages
but the about:profiles tab hasn't been updated to account for the change. I haven't used the store version, but if you can find it in Packages, you could move it to the standard location in .../Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles, remove the store program, install the regular version, then make TB recognize the moved profile by creating a new profile in about:profiles and choosing the moved profile as the source of the 'new' profile. That way, the store profile could be managed from about:profiles.

You are a star! I did download from the MS store and Thunderbird does say its profile is at the expected C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/ but, it's in fact where you say. Problem solved, thank you very much. Clive
