Thunderbird password failed, browser access okay
Suddenly my Thunderbird password failed. It also failed on my Hostgator provider, so I changed it and Hostgator accepts it. But changing it on Thunderbird still gives me
Sending of password for user [email protected] did not succeed. Mail server mail.dianeanddave.net responded: [AUTH] Authentication failed.
Then the message
Login to server mail.dianeanddave.net with username [email protected] failed.
provides an option to 'Enter New Password.'
When I do that, it still fails. What's my next step?

It took a couple of reboots for the TBird change to take effect. All is well now.
