Thunderbird seems to have forgotten the servers and/or the password for a couple of different emails. It asks me to enter the password. Login to account fails. Login to server fails.

Did you just update TB? Can you log in via website? If so, that may indicate your email provider wants a unique password for a PC client. Some email providers, such as Gmail and AOL (and others, I'm sure) require a different password than the one used for web access, which means your phone may be working, but not your PC. If you share your email provider, someone here may have a suggestion.

Thanks david for the reply. My account email here is one of the ones I can't receive, so I didn't see your reply until today. I would update my email address here. Thunderbird can't get it, but at least I can use webmail.

I've used Thunderbird for years. I don't recall having updated it recently. it is version no. 91.11.0 (64-bit). I upgraded to Windows 11 within the last month and I expect Thunderbird would have updated then.

I revived an old Yahoo email to replace one that Thunderbird stopped receiving. I thought the email account had been hacked. I went to dozens of websites to change my email to the Yahoo email. Thunderbird received the new Yahoo emails for a while, then stopped. It also stopped accessing an email server that Godaddy had but GoDaddy switched it to Microsoft. So for some of the emails, I can get them on Webmail. I'd rather use Thunderbird instead of having to use separate webmails and/or email clients, but if I can't get my email on Thunderbird I have no use for it.

Thunderbird was able to sign into these email servers just fine, until it decided not to.

The problem may be that Yahoo changed its password requirements. It now requires an APP password that is created in the user account. That password is specifically for use with email clients. This isn't a Thunderbird issue, it's a change in Yahoo.

I have a similar problem. I turned my computer off on November 8th and turned it back on Nov 12th. When I turned it on I couldn't access my email. I can do it via the web. When I try to bring up my email using TB it asks me to sign in to mobile.charter.net. I don't know what that is and wonder why TB is telling me to sign in there. I spoke with Spectrum and they told me the problem is with TB. HELP
