My old laptop died, and we managed to transfer all my files to my new one. In the process, I got talked into moving ALL my Gmail accounts to Outlook (where my college account is) and give up T'bird to "simplify things"...but instead, it just fouled up things. (We deleted T'bird from my laptop, but I didn't delete my account.) I just realized that one of my email folders is missing, and was also missing on Gmail. So I re-downloaded T'bird and found the folder...but once T'bird asked me to allow it to access my gmail files, it disappeared. (Perhaps because it was no longer in Gmail?) Long story short: is there ANY way for me to recover this folder??

When the account is viewed on the gmail website, is the folder visible, and is IMAP enabled for it in Settings, Labels? If you right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Subscribe, Refresh, is the folder listed so it can be subscribed?

Just be aware that when using the subscribe function, if you just check the boxes it sometimes does not action the subscribe request on my mail, I have to highlight the folder then click the subscribe button on the menu. Plus with Outlook IMAP when naming the folders it recognises folders with a slash in their name (/) but for some reason Thunderbird does not, it took me a long time to arrive at this conclusion, so be careful with folder names!
