How to set Tabs below address bar Firefox 89
I would like to set the tabs to display below the address bar in Firefox 89 64bit. I believe the setting is in about:config but I can't find it. Firefox does this every so often and I wish they would just have a button to say tabs on top, or tabs below address bar.

The last version of Firefox with a built-in setting for this was many years ago. If you have been moving the tabs bar below the address bar in recent years, you probably were using a userChrome.css file and had to update your rules every year or so. Does that ring a bell?
in the update from 89 don't works userChrome.css file any more. so i have put in again 88.1 white the backup from that 88.1
in 89 so it the tab compleet at the bottom off the page?! and why is that, i don't no:
In Firefox 89, the rules that worked fine in Firefox 88 move your tabs all the way to the bottom of the Firefox window? I saw a similar thread over on the mozillaZine forum:

A more general site for userChrome.css help is:
I too have this annoying (Expletive) Up every time big changes are made to Fx.
As this is the official Moz support vehicle, it's about time you folks, either fixed Firefox so we can get the Tabs where we want them, or supply a bit of appropriate css script that'll do the trick.

Hi Arturox, the official word is that changing the order of bars and using userChrome.css are not supported. Any UI hacking help you get here is strictly what the community comes up with.
You could test this one, I haven't tried it myself:

Thanks for the Reddit thought, I have already tried it and while it kind of works it's not satisfactory.
I'm aware that officially userChrome.css is deprecated, but considering the large number of folks that want Tabs below the toolbars why can't it be coded into Firefox?
Or more likely a case of the few remaining coders don't know how to do it?

You use to be able to go to about:config set browser.tabs.onTop to false and that would do it. But this does not seem to work.

That preference was removed in Firefox 29.
Long time users of Firefox know it was removed, and without consultation, but simply, Why can't it be reinstated, it is wanted?

Some people still want it, but whoever makes UI decisions decided long ago that we won't have it. Maybe if you look for threads from the time of Firefox 29 you can find some reasons.
Heheheh! I'm retired and the constant truism is... Once you settle in to retirement there are never enough DAYS in an hour to get all the "Stuff" done... So I won't be adding a back search to my list. :-)
They've spent that last diety knows how many years ripping stuff out of Firefox so there is no rational coding reason why, if they are clever enough to rip stuff out they can't put something back in.
It is something a lot of folks want...

I just upgraded to FF 89 and was quite surprised that my Tabs Bar is back above my Address Bar; I spent nearly 4 hours yesterday altering the code in my userchrome.css file, closing, and then restarting FF to see that none of the solutions posted reposition my Tabs Bar below my Address Bar. Very frustrating to say the least and I have yet to see any acceptable results for all my efforts.
That been said, I am no coder myself and although I do not know the time and effort required to create a web browser like Firefox, I would think that given all the options to rearrange elements on FF, that adding in the option to move the Tabs Bar may not be beyond the possibility and would be welcome which is why I do not understand why such a feature has not been added in. But as I said, I am not a coder and remain hopeful that I will find a solution for this issue.

I have a question.
I appears my relevant questioning here has fallen foul of the Usual suspect and my postings are now being moderated into the bin, even an answer to the question by daggerdx yesterday.
It's no biggy as I have passionate views that get me thrown out of all sorts of places... All I need to know is... Have I been thrown out again?
In which case, I'll not waste my time here and move on to passionately annoy someone else. :-)
Thanks Arturox
Hi everyone, It doesn't look like the person who posted the original question is going to respond, and others seem to be using this thread for there own issues, so I'm going to lock this thread.
