Is Firefox out of business
Could you test whether this is a problem with your home page setting or with your shortcut (the icon you use to start Firefox)? The quickest test is:
Ctrl+n to launch a new window
Do you get the unwanted home page there?
If so:
Check the setting on the Options page, Home panel. Can you control what is selected there or does Firefox say that an extension or an organization is controlling the page?
One possible culprit would be an extension. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.
Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).
Any improvement?

The Firefox browser is made by Mozilla. Mozilla is not out of business. (Or arguably, as a not-for-profit organization, it's not in business.)
Anyway, it takes more than a minute to get a response on this forum.
Note that the System Details list shows a very outdated Flash plugin.
- Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0
You can download the latest NPAPI Flash plugin for Firefox on this page.
Make sure to remove checkmarks for including unwanted additional software.

Another thing to do is to run a quick scan with malwarebytes, www.malwarebytes.com. Remove anything it finds.
Do you know which extension was causing the problem?
