thunder 60.0 does not look correct on my win7 computer
I have tried several times to download and install Thunderbird 60.0 now. I did not uninstall the older version i just updated over it. I did not want to uninstall it totally because i would lose all my drafts and contacts in address book. when i did install Thunderbird 60.0 over my existing 52.9.1
I lose my addon which I like and I get a page that comes up for a second before it gets to my in box. will send below for you to see what comes up. not sure I like the 60.0 version Is is Imperative that I update to 60.0? any way any help will do. I have contacted Just Answer on this problem and dell Tech support and no one has been able to help me.
Below is the page that comes up when I click on the Thunderbird icon on my desktop. Please respond my email [email protected] the page below shows what comes up for a second or 2 when I click on the desktop icon to open Thunderbird. Does not bring me directly to my in box I get htis page first then i get the inbox.
Thanks Mary

would,t that mean you would have to remotely connect to my computer to do a complete reinstall and then i would lose all my contacts and whatever is in my book marks. I know it was explained to me how to back up my profile and everything but I do njot do this for a living and do not know how to do such things
Enlightenment for Paige. Other than this post you keep referring to version 6.0. That is six dot zero. Last modified in October 2015.
Version 60.0 was just released this month. That would be sixty dot zero.
Maybe you can see a difference.

no all you do is back up all your stuff then install the new, your back up should be fine. most mail clients comes with an option of backing it up or exporting as a cv file. then import from file again once completed, in turn is common file type for most email clients, i shouldn't have to pull files from c:// program files/ blalbla bla for a back up defeats of having an email client if i had to do that all the time.

right only seamonkey has a build in option of the tb so if i to update it, it will also update Thunderbird for it's standalone within the same folder, tb and firefox are separated, if you install Thunderbird mail by manual the problem lays between the addons if any, and or the updated files conflicting with old. that would be a reasonable explanation id think. firefox is updated on my end but only shows 60 i just updated to the enterprise on firefox.
my father has the same computer the same firefox browser in the same house he instakked it over the version he had and had no problem. This is what i get when i try to click on the Thunderbird icon that 60.0 creates on my desktop. I get htis page first for a second or 2 then it brings me to my inbox where as right now it goes to my in box as soon as i click the icon the page im an sending is what i get when i install 60.0 this pops up before i get my in box to come up. it does it everytime
I typed it wrong WHAT I WAS TRYING TO INSTALL WAS 60.0 SIXTY

From https://www.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/60.0/releasenotes/
Thunderbird version 60.0 is only offered as direct download from thunderbird.net and not as upgrade from Thunderbird version 52 or earlier. A future version 60.1 will provide updates from earlier versions.

thanks for stepping in i have to split, shes wanting to update her thunderbird
SO IF I DISABLE ALL THE ADD ON AND TRY UPDATING AGAIN YOU ARE SAYING IT WILL WORK
SO THEN I SHOULD WAIT FOR 60.1 TO UPDATE IT
THANK YOU JAMES, I WILL WAIT FOR60.1
Note - Users, so far, are intentionally not automatically updated to version 60. As someone earlier wrote, automatic updates will not happen until we are ready with roughly version 60.1.0. (And so it is generally a mistake to manually update to a newer version unless you need it or want to test it)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH '
