How to delete a block of emails from a folder?
I would like to delete a block of emails from a folder such as all emails from an older year. How can I do it.

You learn Windows selection shortcuts.
Select 1 message and press control+a to select all
Select 1 message then move up or down several messages. Hold the shift key while clicking the 2nd message. Now the 1st and 2nd message are selected as is all messages in between.
Hold the control key while clicking random messages to select non contiguous messages.
Hold the control key while clicking a selected message to deselect.
You can sort by clicking any column header to organize messages to delete. IE: click the header labeled DATE to sort by date. Click DATE a 2nd time to reverse the sort order.
