When we will be able to use the Google Search button in the upper right hand again, if ever? Why is it not working?

the Google Search button
Are you talking about the Firefox search box, or something else?
All Crash Reports (including 3 pending crashes in the given time range)
Some of your crash reports weren’t sent to the Mozilla Servers.
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

On the Firefox browser, in the upper right hand corner, the is a long rectangular box with the word "search" in it, next to a little magnifying glass icon.
When I click on the word "search", it does not respond. Up until the last Firefox update I could always click on that word "search" to open up a search box on the same page. A window would open on the same page or tab with another search box in the centre of the page. One could then begin typing in that search box. Now, however, one needs to open up a completely new Firefox page every time one wants to search for something. Not only that but there is not the predictive suggestions that there used to be. One used to be able to go to the upper right hand corner on the Firefox browser where this is a word "search" in cursive writing, click on it, then have a Google page open on the same tab with a search box or bar or whatever where one could type. Not only does one lose now the ability to go to Google from a new tab, but one loses a lot of the predictive text.

I really enjoyed the benefit of a new Google search bar opening up where one could use the predictive text to assist in a search. It was also great not to have to open up a new window every time and use the search box provided by Firefox. I would like to open up the Google search engine from Firefox as I have been doing for many years now. That is taken away with the last update today, 28 -1 -2017. This has nothing to do with crash reports not being submitted. Not only does one lose now the ability to go to Google from a new tab, but one loses a lot of the predictive text.
Can you attach a screenshot?

- use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
- make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
Did you check what search engine is selected?

Did you enter something in the search box?
I do not seem to be communicating very well here. Maybe I am assuming everyone's Firefox page looks the same. They should. 1). On my PC, and on my friend's laptop, in the upper right hand line of the Firefox Browser, there is an open box. In the box is a tiny 'magnifying glass' icon. Right next to the icon, appears the word "search", in cursive. To the left of the search box, also on the top of the Firefox page, is the address of the page I am on. It will read, for example Mozilla Foundation https://support.mozilla.org etc etc. 2). When I click on the tiny magnifying glass icon, the words "Google Search" pop up. Next to the words "Google Search" is the little "G", representing Google. 3). For the past 5 or 6 years, when I clicked on the words "Google Search", the words I mentioned in point No 2, it opened up a page, right on the same page I was already on, with the Google search box right on the centre of the page. There would be, from time to time, a Google doodle right above the search box on this page. The last Google doodle referred to Betsy Coleman. 4). Now, after the latest Firefox update, when I click on the words "Google Search", (which pop up after I click on the little magnifying glass icon in the upper right hand side of the Firefox browser page), these words "Google Search" I mentioned in point No 2, nothing happens. There is no response. That link does not work. It is dead. I need that link to work again. I need to understand why Firefox took it away. Are they meshuggener, difficult, bored stiff, daft, or what? Why would they do such a thing? It worked fine for years, now this. Every time I want to search something now, I have to open up a completely new page. I cannot go to the top left hand page, click on the magnifying glass icon, the the words "Google Search", then see a page open up from a Firefox tab. Every time I want to open up a new search, I now have to open up a new window. I hope this finally explains it. It has nothing to do with crash reports. It does not require a screen shot. FIREFOX NEEDS TO RESTORE GOOGLE SEARCH. Thanks.
What you mention in No 2 about the line with the Google icon and Search Google is merely a description of what search engine is selected as the default and isn't a link that you can click. When you type some text then you should see an arrow appear that works as a Go button.
No, it used to respond. One would click on the magnifying glass, the words "Google Search" would pop up, then take one to a Google page. Now, there is no Google page.
What is the point of being able to select a search engine when the link that used to be available in the top right hand corner search bar no longer responds? What is the point of entering text there, when a) the predictive text is nothing like it used to be when Google opened, b) there is already a big search box in the middle of the page anyway when one opens a new Firefox page? One used to be able to click on the magnifying glass, then click on the words "Google Search". The page would then open with the big search box, the name Google, sometimes with a Google doodle. That is gone now. It has absolutely nothing to do with entering text into the search box. You can enter text there, it doesn't bring up the Google search engine. Entering text and having a Google page open up are two completely separate things. It is like someone asking, "well, did you open the car door?", when I already explained that the key cannot turn in the ignition. Yes, I can open the car door, but the ignition key still won't turn. The words "Google Search" appear, but the link is dead. The link used to respond. That is my whole point. There is no Google Search available anymore, even though the link is supposed to take us there. What is the point, then of having a choice in search engines? Why is no-one from Mozilla responding to this? Ever since that update yesterday it has been like this. The entire day I have been trying to get someone from Mozilla to address this issue.
Is only the Google search engine not working?

OK I just clicked the little arrow up there on the right hand corner. That at least takes me to a Google page. It isn't the same, but at least I can get to use Google now. No Google Doodle anymore now that some bored nerk went and "updated" Firefox, but at least it is better than relying on the Firefox search engine bar. Yeesh, what a palaver. Well, at least now I can search Google from a tab. I won't have to open an entire new page just to use a freaking search engine every single time.
Oh great, now that little arrow has been taken away as well. :( I will have to open a new window now every time I want to research something. This is a train wreck. I can't believe Mozilla Firefox would mess this all up like this. I am definitely not paying them a contribution this year if they are going to continue like this.

The crash report is several pages of data.
We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?
