Hi there, what is the error shown below and how do I fix it? Many thanks.
[ ABS ][ Error ] resource://gre/modules/addons/XPIProvider.jsm -> file:///C:/Users/test/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/bvmnuwnx.default/extensions/[email protected]/bootstrap.js:25 - addon is null

the appdata folder is hidden by default so it might not be included in search results. please press the windows key + R & open: %appdata% then an explorer window should open up, in there you can navigate to {Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/bvmnuwnx.default/extensions/ in order to get to the mentioned folder...

hi theblay, this error is caused by the avira browserschutz addon that you have installed in your profile. please get in contact with avira to see if they have made an updated version of their extension available, that can fix this issue, or else keep the extension disabled for the moment in the firefox addons-manager...
Thanks for your reply Philipp, I thought it was something along those lines. The only problem is I can't see that extension anywhere in my addons/extensions on firefox... so I can't disable it! Any thoughts? Cheers.
hmm, if the extension doesn't show up in the addons manager at all, you could directly delete it from your harddrive as well. its location is mentione in the error message ("C:/Users/test/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/bvmnuwnx.default/extensions/[email protected]") - you can simply delete that whole folder.
I can't seem to find it in my computer either! I'm running Windows 10 by the way... if that helps. I looked in my C/user/test and can't find it! Ran a search and it didn't find anything...

Cheers Philipp... that's sorted it!
