Firefox shows up wrong font characters
Hi,
I'm using Firefox 41.0.1 on Linux Mint.
I've noticed that the browser is showing up wrong Unicode font characters/icons. The attached pictures show what I see in Firefox (wrong foreign characters) and what I see in a different browser on the same platform (right icons, as expected).
So I'm wondering how to correct this behaviour. Also, the option "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" is checked.
Thanks in advance!

Did you check the Web Console (Firefox menu button or Tools > Web Developer) for error messages?
You can check the Net log and the Network log in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) to see if content fails to load or possibly is blocked (file size is zero).
Use Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
Special icons are usually supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face) as you might see by little boxes that show the hex code of the characters instead. If you have a font installed that covers this Unicode range then you may see a real character and not the little box with the CSS code.
You can check the gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value to true).
Thanks cor-el.
Unfortunately, Web Console shows no error message and gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled is already set to true.
