Can't connect to websites after upgrade to Firefox 31
My Windows 8.1 desktop just applied the 31 update and now all attempts to connect to any internet sites returns a connection not available message. This behavior effects all applications in the system (Chrome, widgets that connect to the net, system updater, etc...).
I rolled back to a recovery point before the update and all worked as expected. I applied just the version 31 update and the system went casters up again. Is anyone else seeing this?

Hi SpongeBrain, Thank you for your question, I did see a question about this yesterday, but recommended to check the kb troubleshooting steps here: Fix problems connecting to websites after updating Firefox
When you did update, did you notice any changes in the network configuration in the Preferences/Options > Advanced > Network section?
Also do you use any Firewalls or AntivirusesConfigure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet
Please post back with your results, with the troubleshooting information of your about:support page we can create the str to check if it is an issue. Thank you.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
