Why can I not have my Back, Forward, Stop and Reload buttons the way I want them? My browser setup was perfect and now with 29 I can not set it up the way I li

I put the Back Forward, Stop and Reload buttons, separately just to the left of the address bar. That is how I like it and how I get my browsing done. After the auto upgrade to 29 killed my browser setup, I tried using Classic Theme Restorer but the reload button does not work at all and now after some time the all of the buttons have just simply disappeared after placeing them where I like them. I am reduced to having to right click the web page and selecting the action from the context menu to do basic browsing actions like going forward and backward and reloading. WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  1. Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
  2. Click the Restore Defaults button, then the Exit Customize button.
  3. If you don't already have it, install Classic Theme Restorer and restart Firefox when prompted.
  4. Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
  5. Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
  6. On the Main tab, make sure "Movable back-forward button" and "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" are checked. You might also want to check "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
  7. Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
  8. Drag the Back/Forward, Stop and Reload buttons onto the navigation toolbar.
  9. Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.

That being said, I should point out that you can reload pages in other ways.

  • Right-click any tab and choose Reload.
  • Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Reload.
  • Press F5.
  • Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R).

Thank you for the response. This has allowed me with some extra effort (the drag drop wants to always put things to the right of the address bar) to organize things properly on the screen.

The only remaining problem is that the Reload button I have placed there does not function. And yes I checked "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" and they are no longer in the address bar. Amazingly dragging on the Back or Forward button still brings up the history so that is good. I use the Reload button though and it will be a pain to have to right click or use a keystroke to do it.

Update. Now for whatever reason the Reload button has started working so I am tentatively back in business, after wasting hours of my work time dealing with these issues.
