Quantum big fails, can you guarantee security updates to Firefox 57?
Hi, i use Firefox from 2004 every years until today and support firefox/thunderbird on certain forums. But now i am really impressed of FAIL of Mozilla Quantum.
1) Quantum on my PC is 10X SLOW than Firefox 57. I have a Win10 I7 Haswelll notebook (and firefox is slow also before meltdown patch). Firefox Quantum is slow also on my smartphone android 7.1 nougat and after december 2017, on my smartphone with Oreo.
2) Quantum is incompatible with a lot of my addons. This problem show that Mozilla did not understand that people use Firefox for his addons and not becouse is fast. 2X speed change web page chargement to 10 ms to 5 ms?! who cares?! Quantum push me to change my Fast Dial collection of website to a new addons fast dial then this operation make me loosing 1 hours of my free time? yes, this annoying!!! Now, i have a lot of addons that do not work: secure login, switchy, Feed SIdebar, Fast Dial and i do now want change with similar addons that do not have same aspect/productivity impact on my firefox use. I do not want lose them with Quantum, then I will no longer update the browser.
Can you guarantee security updates to firefox 57 forever ?

No it is not supported and insecure, end of life Nov. 14th/17 Firefox 57.0.4 gives you support for 1 of the threats from :
Should make sure have Win10 KB4056892 update for the same. Also Intel/AMD releasing patches :

If having issues with things should ask before you get frustrated. Please : go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a tick in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
Monitor in Task Manager. Should stay below 2 gigs. If excessive then do below and monitor and change if need to...Test and go up again , go back down, it will eventually get a zone you and it can live with.
Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please.
Note : Hardware Acceleration is for Video Card, Monitor to see if remain off or to turn back on.

ok, Firefox 58.0b16 resolve slow speed to charge webpage on my I7 4core-8 thread (ADSL work good) 8 GB Ram Win10-64bit.
Unfortunately FDV Speed DIal that is recommended to substitute Fast Dial addons do not work and loose all link added previously (yes, wasted my time to export link from fast dial to FDV Speed Dial). Cant also add new website Same for Feed Sidebar. If i try to find the only feed reader addons Quantum compatible, feedbro, this is not what i want. Have not the graphic that i want like feed sidebar, do not find my saved Feed and yes, also do not show new post (do not work). Next Secure Login addons. Another good addons destroyed by Quantum addons killer browser.
There are a Firefox distro that can be used just to time Mozila retire Quantum browser or work to adjust old addons that push people to use Firefox browser during last 12 yeas?
If Firefox 56 is not secure with meltdown and spectre 1-2 patch installed, i think will leave firefox for waterfox or Opera. Then waterfox leaves hope that i can come back for compatibility with Firefox product. If next time i change to Opera I will say goodbye after over 10 years of Firefox use and I will not go back to using Firefox for many years.
