Youtube comments don't load, even in Safe Mode

more options

Youtube comments load on all other browsers (chrome, opera, maxthon, IE, SWare Iron) but Firefox, this has been going on for quite a while but I ditched firefox because of this problem (and an "oops!" YT login problem, but one at a time). I'm writing this from Firefox Safe Mode and no Youtube comments will load.

Any ideas? Thanks

Hi airdas, another user reported earlier today that comments would only load if he changed the zoom level of the page (Firefox no longer displays comments on Youtube videos, unless I switch the view to > page style>No Style.). I'm not sure whether that was a layout issue or it jogged the script that delays comment loading until you scroll down. Either way, you could try adjusting the zoom level a bit in either direction (Ctrl- a couple times, Ctrl+ a couple times) to see whether that makes any difference for you.

Thank you for testing in Safe Mode. Here are a few other things to consider:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Because YouTube uses multiple domains, third party cookies are a possible issue. If you restrict third party cookies, try liberalizing the setting. This article describes how to set cookie settings for maximum compatibility: Websites say cookies are blocked - Unblock them. The reload the page. any difference?
