Hello everyone, Right after the latest upgrade/Update to Thunderbird (31.3.0) , I now no longer can edit my emails- i.e, underline, bold, change font size, text color etc. There used to be a display menu of options when I wanted to increase the text size of my email, or wanted to change the color of the text, or use any of the Cntrl characters to underline text, bold them, etc. Why did Mozilla get rid of this menu function when composing and editing emails?

What can I do to get this menu back?

You are probably now working in plain text mode.

Hold down shift when clicking on Write, Reply or Forward.

Check in the account settings that you're set to compose using HTML, though note this only applies to new messages as you create them; with Reply and Forward Thunderbird chooses the mode appropriate to the message you're responding to.

Zenos,

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is so weird how this happened, as this has never happened before as long as I have been using TB- which is about 12 years now or so.

Thanks!

Follow-up question for you:

Is there some kind of global fix to this within some menu or sub-menu that will take care of this automatically? Your solution worked, but I am having to do this manually every time I send out an email. There must be some way to get out of this Text-Mode that I am in for some reason.

Your thoughts?
