I see how to view the source coding for a message in my inbox. If I forward one of these messages, I would like to be able to see the source code for the message and edit it before I send it. Is there a way to see and edit the message source before sending?

Chosen solution

The only way I can see to do that would be to save the message as .eml, load it into a text editor and edit it there, then reload it and then forward it.

Isn't that what you do in the compose window?

You would do it in the compose window if you could see the source. Outlook Express had the ability to do this, but it can't be used in Win7. I was hopeful that Thnderbird would let me do this. But I have not found a way to display the source in the forward window to be able to edit it. I can only see the source in the Inbox which can't edit.

This does work....a bit cumbersome, however.

If you go to View|Headers and set it to "All," when you forward the message, the complete headers will be included. You can also do Ctrl-U to see the source, select all, then cut-and-paste into a new email - that eliminates the text editor step.
