I have 5 windows computers, 3 with Firefox and 2 with IE and they are all doing this (page will come up but most of the content and selection boxes are not there (ie - no button to download the latest flash player) and when I go to a site to download a search like @autotrader the results never come). But when I use my Ipad all content and search results appear correctly so I guess it's not an ISP issue. But what makes it very strange (not obvious it's a virus) is that 3 of those computers were not even being used until I went to check and see if i could reach those websites.

Example of website to test where content does not display - www.cypresscycles.com I only see the headline and one background picture of motorcycle and details at the bottom. No scrolling, no picture of owners, no text on any of the tabs for Offroad or Contact Us or etc.

I have the latest Flash Player installed. Can't seem to get Java updated, in add-ons it just says it is blocked for my protection. One guy said you could fix it by going Tools > options > content > make sure Automatically load images is checked (but there is no such thing on that tab in my Firefox????)

This problem does not allow my children to use their school website (just shows the download circle spinning forever).

Please help!!!!!!!!!!! Father of 3 boys. David

Hello David,

except the latest Flash Player you have also and the latest Java installed (Next Generation Java Plug-in 10.25.2 for Mozilla browsers) , check if you activate the plugins : Determining if a plugin is the problem, select always active.

see also: Why do I have to click to activate plugins?

you said : One guy said you could fix it by going Tools > options > content > make sure Automatically load images is checked (but there is no such thing on that tab in my Firefox????)

not exist any more from 23.0 version and above (see : http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/23.0/releasenotes/) because of this : http://limi.net/checkboxes-that-kill , if you 1 (as a value) in permissions.default.image in about:config you are OK (checked[v]).

also many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Regarding addons: My Java Deployment Toolkit say ask to activate and says it is blocked to protect me. I have 2 Shockwave Flash Add ons. The latest version I have activated and the other I disabled.

I understand about ask to activate but it doesn't give me the option when I am on the site.

I delete all cookies and cache and still doesn't work.

You do not need the Java Deployment Toolkit, it is basically for developers.

You are correct about Shockwave Flash, you can keep only one (the latest Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800), try to uninstall and then install the latest, see :Uninstalling Flash, see the note in the above link (Running Adobe's uninstaller will remove Flash from all browsers where it is not built-in, including Internet Explorer. You will be prompted to reinstall Flash when you visit a page that requires it.....)

thanks again

Uninstalled Flash and reinstalled it successfully. Still not working.

FYI - When I go to the Flash test I don't get the video or an error message. And this is happening on 5 computers all at the same time.... ?????

And why is Flash 9 from 2007 still listed in my firefox addons... it's not in my Uninstall Programs?
