I was running Firefox 22 just fine and decided to try and install the beta. I downloaded the setup for Firefox 23 beta and when I tried to open it, it went to 61% extracting then disappeared and nothing else happened. I then uninstalled Firefox 22 and tried installing it again and for some odd reason, it was also stopping the extraction at 61% then disappearing. I ran ccleaner to clean any junk out and still the same error.

I troubleshoot as much I knew. I ran as administrator, set it to compatibility mode, ran it in safe mode, and extracted the setup files and ran the setup files itself using all the methods I just listed and nothing works. Please help. I don't want to use any other browser than Firefox :(

Please remember NOT to use any option that removes personal information or you will destroy bookmarks and passwords.

The most likely explanation is that security related software is interfering. Disable security related software and install a new official version over the top of anything you already have without first of all deleting anything.

If you still get problems please post screenshots of any error messages

please run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the free version of malwarebytes, microsoft safety scanner & kaspersky security scan.

I'm currently using Windows 8 so I disabled my Windows Defender and that didn't seem to work. I than ran a full scan using Windows Defender and downloaded malware bytes and both the software didn't detect any errors.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Try to download a new copy of the Firefox installer, possibly in Windows Safe mode if there are still problems.
