When I go to sync on my desktop, it says I already have an account, and it gives me three sets of letters and tells me to go to my other device and hit "add device." When I click on Connect under sync, and it gives me another three sets of letters and says go to the other device and hit "add device." I'm just going around in circles. I tried deleting my sync account, which gives me that strange message about a dinosur escaping. I tried deleting the data, which it says it did, but the same thing keeps happening. Help!

Would you provide a sync log from your desktop computer? Details on the steps at https://philikon.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/how-to-file-a-good-sync-bug/

I'm sorry to be a troublemaker, but it occurred to me that I hadn't saved the page to a file. But I don't see a way to attach it -- the "add images" place below won't accept it, and the link icon above is just for urls. Help!

It sounds like neither of your devices is currently logged into a Firefox sync account. If you have never set up Firefox Sync before, then on your desktop you should do this:

  • Open the Firefox Firefox options, preferences and settings and go to the "Sync" section
  • Press the "Set up Firefox Sync" button.
  • Press the "Create new account" button (not the "Connect" button)
  • Follow the instructions to create an account.

After that is finished, you can press the "connect" button on your Android device and the "add a device" button on your desktop, and type the 12-letter code from your Android device into the "Add a device" window on your desktop.

Thank you! It would just say "invalid email" when I put my usual email in, but when I put another one in and followed your instructions, it worked.
