is it recommended to save the .exe file when downloading Firefox? There is no option to click no. Only to choose save or cancel.

When clicking on download, Firefox asks "do you wish to save this file?" It is an .exe file. There are options for "yes" and "cancel." Is it recommended that the file be saved before downloading? I clicked "save," but was not comfortable with that action, so I deleted it from my downloads list. However, I'm not sure if that simply cleared the file from my downloads list. Where can I look on my computer to check if FF .exe file has been saved? You would make this process simpler if you offered an explanation as to why or why not this file should/should be saved.
