I have XP and Firefox 5.0. Followed the directions for not wanting to be tracked, but in Options, general tab ( under Advanced) has no checkbox for this. The last checkbox is "Check my spelling as I type". The instructions show "Tel websites I do not want to be tracked" as last checkbox. Is there a way to get this? Many, many Thanks in advance.

That preference was moved to Options > Privacy -> Tracking in the 5.0 version.

Selecting that "do-not-track" setting will only make Firefox send a specific HTTP header (DNT=1) to a web server.
It is up to the server to do something with that request.
