Do you mean saving data that you enter in a form or remembering names and passwords ?

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

You state that in order to have Firefox remember ID--click on tools>options>history Remember search and password. I did that and your instructions stated to make sure you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing Mode (un-check) I did all that and it does not work and or solve the problem--Firefox still does not remember ID. Your instructions also said to press 'F10 and or press and hold down the ALT key to show the "Menu Bar" temporarily." That does not work either.  ???? Where do we go from here ???

You haven't told us if the problem is with saving passwords in the Firefox Password Manager or that you have a problem with automatic log in via a 'remember me' cookie.

Did you create a specific cookie allow exception for that website?

  • Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
